Parent Letter: “Jeremy is truly a ‘success story’ of Joe Foss School” (Sioux Falls, S.D.)
May 7, 2014
Dear Mr. Pansch, Ms. Tvedt and Ms. Beckette,
I wish to wholeheartedly express our thanks for impacting the life of our son, Jeremiah over the last semester.
Jeremy is truly a “success story” of Joe Foss School, and I’m sure you have many others.
School has been a struggle for him the last few years. This semester was such a change. You motivated Jeremy like none other and made school enjoyable for him once again. What an amazing difference!
I thought it would be such a thrill to see him graduate from high school – and it is. Yet in some ways, I’m sorry that he does not have more time with you.
You helped Jeremy to see that he has potential, and this is possibly more important than the high school degree that he is earning. To be recognized as student of the month was such a boost. Each time he brought home one of your certificates, stating that he had passed a class, it was a cool time for us to affirm him.
The graduation requirement to create a resume and ask for letters of recommendation is genius. The letters that Jeremy collected will not only help him when it comes time to look for a job, they served to empower and build him up, and cause him to look ahead to a new chapter in life.
I’d just like to encourage you to keep doing what you are doing. For our family and our son, you have done phenomenal work.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to enroll our son at Joe Foss.
