Operation Graduation 2011 Essay: Isaac Foley (Tuscon, Ariz.)

Date: July 26, 2011

Today is a good day. I remember Ms. G asking me, “WAS THERE EVER A TIME WHEN YOU THOUGHT YOU JUST WEREN’T GOING TO GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL?” My answer: ALL THE TIME. This is why today is a good day.

I’m not going to lie; it wasn’t easy getting to this point in my life. Between looking for a job and people coming in and out of my life all the time, school wasn’t always a breeze. However, it feels good to know that all those days that I woke up early to get to school have finally paid off.

I always knew that my hard work and dedication were going to be recognized by the teachers and my wonderful director, Ms. Seal. Ombudsman was a place where I always felt wanted. It was nice walking in and being greeted by the teachers or even getting yelled at for being a few minutes late.

Today is a perfect day to show my gratitude to Mrs. Seal and the teachers, along with my friends and family.

I couldn’t go a day without their support, and this diploma isn’t just for me, but for all those people that helped me achieve this goal: those people that I love, those who have passed and those that are still here with me. Thank you for your time, and to my fellow graduates: CONGRATULATIONS AND BEST OF LUCK.
