Operation Graduation 2016 Winners Announced!
A guest post from Ombudsman’s Senior Vice President of Operations, Rudolph Flores.
I am excited to announce the winners of Operation Graduation 2016, and before I do, I would like to recognize the operations managers, center directors and center staff who made it possible for the Class of 2016 to earn their high school diplomas.
Thanks to our staff for inspiring our graduates to reflect on what their diplomas mean to them, their futures and their families. Each student essay and video reminded me of how important it is to provide an alternate route to graduation for our students – and how vital the roles of operations manager, director and teacher are to the success of our students.
Now, on to our winners!
Click below to read their inspiring winning essays:
Grand Prize Essay, Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Lumia 950: Johnny Lopez (Charter Valenica) Excerpt: “The teachers had faith in me and told me I could do it. I believed them and started to believe in myself. That was three years ago. In addition to earning my diploma, I truly became part of the Ombudsman family.”
First Runner-Up, iPhone 6s and Apple watch: NyAsia Guiterrez (Aurora, Il) Excerpt: “From the moment I started attending Ombudsman, I can honestly say, my life has changed. I’m going to graduate high school with my class still and I’m going to finally be done! After being so close to giving up on school and my diploma. Ombudsman was there to hold my hand and walk the rest of the way with me.”
I encourage our center staff members to keep these graduates’ words top of mind as we begin the school year. I hope they will serve as motivation to keep up the great work as we work toward graduating the Class of 2017.
Thank you for all you do for Ombudsman students!
