Date: November 4, 2011

So, you’ve taken a deeper look at the option of heading off to college or attending a university. You might be excited about that next step and can’t wait to dive right in to that process. It might even be that you feel that college is not right for you. Whether you head to college or not, you are going to want to be ready for the workforce, sooner than later.

Let’s talk about what it takes to GET THAT JOB!

A huge part of being hired for any position is demonstrating that you have character that makes you hirable.

I know that many of you have worked hard on having the type of character that would make you a great candidate for any job. I also know that it might very well be that up until now, you have never really looked at your actions and thought about the affect and impression that they make on others. If you’ve never thought about your character before, we want to challenge you to do just that.

Each of our choices have an impact not only on our present, but our future. You can start right now to rebuild your future, one choice at a time.

This video will give you a better idea of what it actually means to demonstrate character.

Consider these six pillars of Character:

1. Trustworthiness
2. Respect
3. Responsibility
4. Fairness
5. Caring
5. Citizenship.

Also Consider these steps:
1. Take responsibility for your choices.
2. Work to repair bridges that you might have broken.
3. Build relationships.

No matter at what level you see your character, these are things to consider that you can take to improve and hopefully, GET THAT JOB!
