Life After Ombudsman | College Readiness

Date: October 19, 2011

Last month, you explored who you are and learned about your interests and careers that align with those interests and timelines to help you along your journey to graduation and beyond.

Now, let’s take a look at one of several post-graduation options: Enrolling in a college or university.

This month, you will be learning more about what it means to go to college. You will discover that it isn’t exactly what you may have seen in the movies.

It is NOT all fun and partying, but literally “higher education.”

You will be free to make your own decisions. You will decide whether you attend class, complete assignments and study for exams. And along with that freedom comes responsibility.

As in all chapters of your life, it is important to be mindful of your ultimate goal, which, in this case, is earning your degree. Too much “fun” may cause you to miss out on one of the greatest opportunities of your life.

To begin your journey in examining this option, please explore knowhow2go. This site’s sole purpose is to help students of all grade levels ensure they are taking the necessary steps to prepare for college.

Whether or not attending college is in your plans, we invite you to participate in a few virtual tours and check out the videos at the link below.

You just might decide that college is the right fit for you!
