Life After Ombudsman | Is the Military for Me?

Date: August 3, 2012

So, you are thinking about joining the Military, huh?

That is a decision that should not be made lightly. Enlisting in one of the armed services is a responsibility requiring careful thought. Unlike college or other career fields, this route carries with it the most serious and long term commitment. A military service contract lasts for eight years of either active or inactive duty.  So take your time and make an informed decision.

Also be sure that you speak with a recruiter early on in the process. Each recruiter from region to region can determine how they will go about evaluating new recruits. You will need to show them that you are serious about this decision.

Before you sign up, there are plenty of things you should know. Click on the military branches below to discover more about what they can offer you and what your skills can offer them.
