Arizona Charter Phoenix Graduation Address: Beverly Geiser

Date: June 25, 2012

Ombudsman Arizona Charter Phoenix Alternative Schools Class of 2012 graduated on June 1 at Phoenix First Assembly Church. Beverly Geiser addressed her classmates during the ceremony, and a transcript follows below:

Good afternoon class of 2012!

My name is Beverly Geiser and i am graduating today from West Charter. I stand in front of you today a new person with endless possibilities. Like most of you, my high school career has been quite the journey. It hasn’t gone without difficulty and life changing obstacles.

However, being a part of the Ombudsman family has opened my eyes to what we are all really capable of. We all have our unique ways of pulling through and achieving success. Someone one once told me if you want something, you can’t stand around and wait for it. You have to go out and get it. We made the choice to improve ourselves and get an education and get our diplomas.

Look! Look where we are right now, we made it. And now there is the greatest opportunity to make something of ourselves and be better than the best. I’m here to tell you, you can do this. We’ve come this far, too far to give up now. So, class of 2012, let’s prove to everyone that we can get up here, walk on this stage, show them who we are and what we have become.

Our time at Ombudsman is just the beginning. We have accomplished much. But we still have much to accomplish. Next year I will be attending Phoenix Community College on my path to becoming a doctor.

Congratulations class of 2012!
