Anti-Bullying Slogan Contest Winners
Guest post by Bill Listanski, Ombudsman operations manager and chair of ESA’s Anti-Bullying Committee
We have winners!
I want to thank all of the center and school staff, administrative personnel and, most importantly, our students for their enthusiastic participation in our Anti-Bullying Initiative. There has been a tremendous response from students and staff across both divisions of our organization.
Our stance against bullying is staying at the forefront of the minds of our students and increasing the awareness among our staff, and every day we continue to work toward creating a safe, positive and tolerant culture in each of our schools and centers.
After more than 850 votes cast, I am pleased to announce the winners of the Anti-Bullying Slogan Contest.
“Be Cool, Not Cruel.”
Two students submitted this winning slogan independently: Hunter Graef, a fifth-grade student from the Atlantis Academy Coral Springs in Florida, and Omar Garcia, a high school senior from the Ombudsman Dekalb Center in Illinois.
Their slogan will be imprinted on purple anti-bullying campaign wristbands and distributed to all schools, centers and administrative offices in the organization. Bracelets will also be available for sale to the public to raise funds for donation to a national anti-bullying organization. In addition, Hunter and Omar will each receive a $50 American Express gift card.
Congratulations to Hunter and Omar – and to everyone who voted! You are making a difference!
I look forward to writing again regarding our next phase of ESA’s Anti-Bullying Initiative.
