Anti-Bullying Slogan Contest Voting Begins

Date: February 1, 2011

Guest post by Bill Listanski, Ombudsman operations manager and chair of ESA’s Anti-Bullying Committee

First, I want to take this opportunity to thank my ESA team members for their enthusiasm and excitement regarding this initiative. That enthusiasm is definitely being passed along to our students!

We had a tremendous response to the anti-bullying slogan contest, with more than 350 submissions by students at schools and centers from both the Ombudsman and Spectrum Divisions.  That is truly incredible!

Over the past week, members of the Anti-Bullying Committee narrowed the slogans down to six finalists for an ESA staff and student body vote.  Votes are being cast by students, center/school staff, and administrative personnel via electronic and paper ballots this week.

The slogan receiving the highest number of votes will be determined at close of business on Wednesday, February 9, 2011.

The winning slogan will be printed on the campaign wristbands, which will be distributed to staff and students to raise money for a lump-sum contribution to a national anti-bullying organization.  The winner will also receive a $50 American Express gift card.  Good luck to the finalists!

Thank you all again for your interest and support in making this initiative a success for our students and schools.
