Ronald McDonald House Community Service Project (Buchanan, Ga.)

Date: April 10, 2013

The Buchanan Ombudsman center collected soda tabs this year as a community service project to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities. Photographed above, Scott Daniel was the largest contributor of soda tabs.

The Ronald McDonald House helps families of children who are critically ill. They provide a safe haven or simply a place close by for families of children who are receiving treatment for an illness or are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). All amenities are covered for a low fee or in some cases no fee at all depending on the family’s income. The Ronald McDonald Houses are very comfortable as a home away from home. The caretakers are able to provide almost anything that is needed such as toiletries and food. Ronald McDonald House Charities can provide all of this for these families in need through the low fee, kind donations, restaurant sales, and through the recycling of soda tabs.

Thanks to the students and staff at the Buchanan Ombudsman center for your contributions to the community.
