Paulding Center News – November (Dallas, Ga.)
Notes from Mrs. Snyder, Miss Rose, Mrs. Budnek and Mrs. Beaty.
We welcomed 12 new students in October. They are each adjusting well and have become active members of our community. We are quite a busy center now!
We are pleased to be part of a pilot program for Ombudsman. It’s called Lexia Strategies for Older Students and its purpose is to remediate essential reading skills. We will have an introductory meeting for participating students in the next week or so.
We are also beginning another new program called Study Island, a test prep program. Due to the currently limited slots available for the pilot program, only students who need to prepare for an End-of-Course Test (EOCT) will participate.

Nov. 22-26 – Thanksgiving break

Community Outreach and Service Learning
We have been collecting money for Paulding Christmas Inc. through our Pennies for Paulding drive. At this point, we have raised more than 12 pounds of coins. We aren’t sure how much money that is yet. We will count it in late November.
Pennies for Paulding officially begins November 8 and runs through November 19. Paulding Christmas Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides new toys at Christmas for approximately 1,900 children in Paulding County, so every penny counts!
We are also participating in a food drive helping Coach 4 Me. This organization assists families needing food during the holidays. The last day for Thanksgiving donations will be November 19, and the last day for Christmas donations will be December 17.
