Clarke County Signs Up for Ombudsman Summer Program

The Clarke County School District in Athens, Ga., a new Ombudsman partner, is getting a head start on the 2010-2011 academic year by offering summer school sessions to help students get back on track. Ombudsman will serve more than 40 students in two four-hour sessions Monday through Thursday from June 1 to June 24.

“Summer school is a great option for many of our district partners who want to take advantage of the summer months to help their students meet district and state requirements for promotion or graduation,” Allison O’Neill, Ombudsman chief operating officer said.  “Students tell us they like the opportunity to attend our summer school programs to make up credits or get a jump start on the new school year.”

In February, the Clarke County Board of Education voted unanimously to partner with Ombudsman to serve 175 middle and high school students this fall.
