Buchanan Center News (Buchanan, Ga.)

Date: October 1, 2010

During the past few weeks, students at the Buchanan Ombudsman Center have volunteered to improve their curb appeal. Several young men pulled weeds, swept and removed debris from the front walkway. We are proud of their willingness to work on this ongoing project, which will create an attractive, more welcoming entrance.

The Buchanan Ombudsman Center had their Student Success Celebration Day on Friday, September 17. Local businesses donated gift certificates to recognize student achievement in attendance, skill-streaming participation and making positive choices.

Staff and students enjoy Pastries for Parents

Ombudsman in Buchanan, Georgia, had a wonderful turnout for the Pastries for Parents event. Local businesses donated pastries and other items to the center. All parents, grandparents and other significant adults were invited to spend time with their children. Students who brought a parent shared what they have been learning and demonstrated how they earn their credits. Afterward, they all enjoyed a wide variety of pastries, juice and coffee. We had a great time and look forward to next month’s Pastries for Parents event.
