Arizona Charter Metro Raises Funds for Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix
Charter Metro in Phoenix concluded their fall 2011 community service project with the presentation of a check for $174 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix. This gift will provide 46 meals to children enrolled in the program.
Each Friday during the fall semester, students made donations in amounts of 25 and 50 cents toward the project fund and received “fun” permissions such as listening to music or wearing hats for doing so.
Sharon Rueckert, a MetrOrg ambassador for the organization, visited the center to accept and express her gratitude for the donation, speak about the program, and encouraged the students to volunteer at one of the Phoenix-area clubs.
We’re looking forward to posting a follow-up to this community service project, as Charter Metro students have accepted a challenge to double their donation amount – and the number of meals provided – during the spring semester!
