Kimberly Tichna, Ombudsman Student

I can stay on task and still earn the credits I need to stay at my grade level.

Kimberly Tichna
I enrolled in Ombudsman when I was suspended from my previous school. I wanted an education, and being out of school for a semester would have put me behind academically. At Ombudsman, I can stay on task and still earn the credits I need to stay at my grade level.

Since the class sizes are smaller, I can get the one-on-one help I need to get my work done. The short class sessions let me work after school and help support my family.

All the teachers here really care about how I’m doing. They treat me like a person, not like a little kid or troublemaker. I’m really going to miss them when I return to my old school.

Now that I’m on track to earn my high school diploma, I have started thinking about my plans after I graduate. My plan is to go to a technical college and earn degrees in massage therapy and business.
