Ombudsman has shown me that I can do a lot of things others thought I could never do.

Regardless of their family circumstance, students benefit from Ombudsman’s alternative educational programs that provide individualized, computer-assisted education. Many students need help to accomplish their academic goals because their personal challenges lead them to believe dropping out is the only option. But students who are at risk or have already dropped out of school have an alternate route to earn a high school diploma at Ombudsman.

Family Structures
Ombudsman helps students in every kind of family situation, including:

  • Single-parent families
  • Non-traditional families
  • Non-parent families

Ombudsman works with families, regardless of their structure, to help support students as they pursue their diplomas. Ombudsman recognizes that family support is important to a student’s success and incorporates family encouragement into our programs.

Getting Involved
Ombudsman involves families in the educational process because we know how much of an influence families can have in the lives of their middle and high school students. Families who hold a positive attitude toward schooling help increase their child’s chances of staying in school and graduating from high school.

Students and parents attend intake appointments at Ombudsman, so they can learn about their roles in preventing or recovering high school dropouts. They learn what is required of them to make their involvement in Ombudsman’s alternative program as successful as possible.

Staying Involved
Each student’s academic growth is evaluated daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly by expert staff. This assures that the student is progressing and allows instructors to adjust teaching strategies if needed. Families are always encouraged to discuss progress and opportunities for improvement with Ombudsman teachers and administrators.
